Domenico Ginoli, poeta romano che tanto fù ispirato dai ruderi di questa città, in una pagina del suo racconto "Vittoria Accoramboni" (1870), così la descrive:
"... oltre ad un ponte sotto cui passa l'Arrone che ivi presso cade, unica voce di quel luogo solingo, sorge una rupe diritta bagnata à piedi dal fiumicello e coronata di mura cadenti. Salendo la via che vi mena sopra, passerà una porta dove è scolpito lo stemma degli Orsini, poi due altre."

The roman poet Domenico Ginoli was so inspired by the ruins of this city that, in his story "Vittoria Accoramboni" (1870), he describes it like this:
"...beyand a bridge under which the Arrone flows and wearby falls, only voice in that solitary place, a steep cliff rises with a brook at the bottom and crowned by crumbling walls. Following the path which winds up the cliff, you will pass by door bearing the carved crest of the Orsinis, and then by two more."
